The Teesside Hospice
As part of the focus on our Community, Bede Financial Group are proud to have an active support partnership with our local Teesside Hospice. Bede Financial Group donates £1 for every new non-life policy taken out, and renewed through Bede Insure, and we also embark on our own fundraising events locally for this very worthy local cause.
In 2014 Teesside Hospice also received a donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable foundation fund. A charity band night in May 2014 featuring local band Fat Medicine raised a significant amount for the Hospice. About Teesside Hospice Teesside Hospice Care Foundation, based in Middlesbrough but also working in the Marske by The Sea and East Cleveland area, was established in 1982 to enhance the lives of local people suffering from life limiting illnesses in the Teesside region. The Hospice cares for over 3,000 individuals each year. The majority of the care to patients and their families focuses upon pain and symptom control, but they also provide respite care to allow relatives a break whilst caring for their loved ones. The services offered by Teesside Hospice include:

How are they funded?
Most people are surprised to learn that the annual running costs are in excess of £2.2 million. They receive in the region of one third of these costs from the local NHS and must therefore raise approximately £4,400 each and every day of the year from their own resources, most of which is generated by the activities of their Trading Company. Who do they care for? Individuals are cared for within Teesside Hospice when they are suffering from any progressive disease such as Advanced Cancer, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Heart Disease, and other life limiting illnesses. Bede Financial Group are very proud of our links with Teesside Hospice and the fantastic work that they do. We will continue to provide financial assistance where we can and to promote the services that they offer. |
